TERRI ROBERTS, a 5’8 sophomore shortstop for the Lady Bears softball team has been named the MilesGoldenBears.com Female Student-Athlete of the Week for the period ending Sunday, March 27, 2011. It’s the 1st honor of the season for Roberts and the 1st for the Miles women’s softball team.
The Prattville, AL native led the Lady Bears (10-16; 8-4) to a 4-2 win strike at the SIAC Softball Crossover Tournament with victories over conference foe Claflin University, Fort Valley State University, Benedict College and Paine College this past week.
For the week, Roberts had a .555 batting average, going 10-for-18 at the plate, with three home runs, a triple and a double in six games at the crossover. Terri powered the Lady Bear offense with an impressive 1.222 slugging percentage along with nine RBI’s, 11 runs scored and three stolen bases.
Roberts was also named SIAC West Division Softball Player of the Week.
