Sammeika Thomas, a 6’2 junior forward for the Lady Bears basketball team has been named the MilesGoldenBears.com Female Student-Athlete of the Week for the period ending Sunday, January 9, 2011. It’s the second honor of the season for Thomas and the third for the Miles women’s basketball team.
The Birmingham, AL native led the Lady Bears (5-4; 2-3) to a 74-32 non-conference victory over winless Allen University (0-8) in Saturday. Thomas led the Lady Bears with a game-high 11 rebounds and 6 blocks, while adding four points, two assist and one steal.
In the SIAC, Thomas is ranked 3rd in rebounding, 24th in scoring, 13th in field goal percentage, 2nd in blocked shots, 10th in offensive rebounding and 3rd in defensive rebounding in the SIAC.
