Stephens was inserted into the starting lineup two weeks ago and has done a solid job for the Golden Bears. In a 36-0 win over Central State, he had a game-high 11 tackles (eight solo), two tackles for loss, and his first career interception, which he returned 40 yards. On the season, the freshman has 21 tackles (12 solo) in five games to go along with his two tackles for loss and interception he picked up against the Marauders. He was named SIAC Newcomer of the Week for his efforts.
