Senior power forward Courtney English (6-0) for the Lady Bears basketball team was selected SIAC Women’s Basketball Player of the Week, respectively, after her impressive performance during the Paine and Albany State games. It is the third honor of the season for English with two from the SIAC and one team honor and the third for the Miles women’s basketball team.
English, a native of Atmore, AL (L. B. Wallace Community College), recorded her ninth and tenth double-double of the season in games against Paine and Albany State and a season high in points and rebounds against Albany State with 28 points and 18 rebounds. She earned her third player of the week honor this season after averaging 19.5 points and 15 rebounds in two games. The 6-foot-0 power forward also averaged 2.5 steals, 1.5 blocks on defense and 2.5 assists.
