Freshman pitcher Austin Williams (5’11) for the Golden Bears baseball team have been named SIAC Baseball Western Division Pitcher of the Week, respectively, after his impressive performance at the plate during week # 1. It is the first honor of the season for Williams and the second for the Miles baseball team.

Williams, a native of Adamsville, AL., went 2-0 for the week and a 4.91 ERA in two appearances. The 5-foot-11 pitcher threw 11 innings with 11 strikeouts while helping the Golden Bears to wins over Morehouse College and Tougaloo College. The Golden Bears are also ranked 9th in the first week polling of the NCBWA Division II Baseball South Region Polls.
