Junior forward Courtney English (6’0) for the Lady Bears basketball team have been named SIAC Women’s Basketball Newcomer of the Week for the third consecutive week, after her impressive performance during week #10. It is the third honor of the season for English and the six for the Miles women’s basketball team.
English, a native of Atmore, AL., scored two double-doubles and averaged 18 points and 10 rebounds in three games. This includes her 25 points and 12 rebounds in a 65-58 victory over Claflin University, and averaged two steals and one assists. English help lead the Lady Bears to a 2-1 conference record, including a big win over Fort Valley State University.
