Fairfield, AL | Travaunta Abner (Lanett, AL,) has been named to the 2023 NCAA D2CCA All Super Region Two Football first team.  The D2CCA is the Division II Conference Commissioner Association and gives out the award annually.  The D2CCA encourages and promotes Division II athletics and high standards of sportsmanship as important elements of higher education.
 
In nine games played this season, Abner caught 22 passes for 386 yards, and scored five touchdowns.   His longest reception was for 58 yards.  Abner's per game averages were 2.4 receptions for 17.5 yards per reception. Abner's best performance of the season came against Allen, where he had four catches for 128 yards, and two touchdowns.

As an added bonus for his outstanding performance on the field that had the Golden Bears one game from the SIAC championship game and a six-win improvement from last season, the 6'3", 220 lbs. tight end will now have a chance to earn NCAA All-American honors.
