Streak continues with win over Lane

Justin Hardy rushed for 167 yards, Joseph Cambridge had 161 yards of total offense and Nick Christiansen kicked three field goals - two over 50 yards - as Miles pushed its win streak to three win a 23-13 win over Lane Saturday afternoon at Sloan-Alumni Stadium. It was also the Golden Bears ninth straight win over the Dragons.

The Golden Bears (5-3, 3-1 SIAC) ran out to a 20-0 lead in the first half as they scored on four of their first five possessions. Lane (1-7, 0-4) got into Miles territory on its opening drive but after N'Ktavious Floyd grabbed his second interception of the season on the Dragons first possession, they did not make it past their 35-yard line again, finishing with just 95 total yards over the first 30 minutes.

Christiansen belted a 53-yard field goal on Miles' opening drive to gain the lead. After the Floyd interception, Hardy finished off a 43-yard drive with a 17-yard scoring run - his sixth in the last three weeks - for a 10-0 advantage. Christiansen then smoked a 52-yard field goal on the last play of the opening quarter for a 13-0 advantage. It was Christiansen's second career game with two field goals of more than 50 yards.

Cambridge, who was 8-of-15 for 112 yards passing, supplemented his 49 rushing yards with a 9-yard touchdown run right before halftime to push the lead to 20-0. Lane got rushing touchdowns from Marcus Holliday and Marcus Reynolds in the second half that sandwiched a 27-yard field goal from Christiansen to close out the scoring.

Anthony Hardy had a game-high 12 tackles (four solo) and 2.5 tackles for loss, Austin Stephens had 10 tackles (1.5 for loss), Kendrell Walker had seven solo tackles and Jaylun Thomas added five tackles and a sack for the Golden Bears, who host Clark Atlanta Thursday night in thier final home game of the season.
