Biography

2017: Selected to All-SIAC Second Team...Finished in the top-10 in the SIAC in total tackles (81) and top-5 in the league in tackles per game (nine). Stephens had four games with at least 10 tackles, including a 16-tackle performance at West Georgia and a 12-tackle game at Alcorn State, which also included an interception. His best game came against Albany State, where he had 17 tackles (12 solo), a sack and a forced fumble, which earned him SIAC Defensive Player of the Week honors.

2016: Stephens played in nine games as a freshman, starting four. He was third among linebackers (and sixth overall) on Golden Bears with 28 total tackles (15 solo). Also added 3.5 tackles for loss and an interception that he returned for a touchdown in a win against Central State, a game where he also had a season-high 11 tackles (eight solo).
