Najashi Tolefree will have another opportunity to represent the Golden Bears on a big stage after his selection as one of the participants in the 2026 HBCU All-Star Game Experience on Apr. 5 in Indianapolis.
Tolefree, a senior from Milwaukee, Wis., is one of three players from the SIAC to compete in the All-Star Game, which is in its fifth year and takes place during Final Four weekend. this year's contest will take place at Corteva Coliseum at the Indiana State Fairgrounds and will tip-off at 1 p.m. The annual showcase gathers the nation's top HBCU seniors to compete in front of professional scouts, executives, and fans, while honoring the legacy and influence of HBCU athletics.
The sole returning player from last year's squad, Tolefree turned in a big campaign for the Golden Bears that led to another 20-win season and trip to the SIAC Tournament semifinals. He led the Golden Bears in scoring (16.1 points per game), which was seventh in the SIAC, and is 10th in the conference in rebounds per game (6.8) - one of only two players in the league that is in the top-10 in both categories - and was named First Team All-SIAC. He also averaged nearly three assists per game, which is second on the team. On three different occasions this season, he scored 27 points in a game, which is his career high.
