ARCIS Winner 2026

Golf wins ARCIS title

WESTON, Fla. -- The Miles golf team started the spring portion of its season with a come-from-behind first place finish at the ARCIS HBCU Invitational on Feb. 23-24, beating out four other teams to defeat Winston-Salem State by four strokes. It is the third first-place finish in four starts this season, with a compelling three-way battle for top individual honors to close out the tourney.

Adrian Raya opened with a birdie on the first hole and shot en even-par 36 in the nine-hole final round at The Club at Weston Hills to erase a three-stroke deficit to teammate Braydon Moye and force a three-way tie with Godfrey Nsubuga of Winston-Salem State. The trio each shot 9-over-par through 45 holes but needed three extra frames to decide the winner. Raya was able to outlast Moye and Nsubuga to win the individualist medal and cap a strong tournament for the Golden Bears.

Four Mileans finished in the top-8, with Zostrianos Giordani-Gross (+14, 194, 7th) and Jeremiah Bianchi (+15, 195, 8th) coming up big in the final round. The Golden Bears executed the comeback by shooting par or better as a team on four of the nine holes to help surge past Winston-Salem State, which held a one-shot lead coming into the final round.

Miles is back in action on Mar. 23-24 as it competes in the Trailblazer Spring Invitational in Travelers Rest, S.C.
