For the second time in three weeks, Miles forward
Najashi Tolefree was named Player of the Week in the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference.
Tolefree, a senior forward from Milwaukee, Wis., posted double-doubles in both games for the Golden Bears, averaging 19 points, 11.5 rebounds, 2.5 assists, 1.5 blocks and 1.5 steals. In a win at Benedict, he had 18 points, 11 rebounds, three assists, three steals and two blocks. He scored seven of Miles' final nine points over a three-and-a-half-minute span to quell a Tigers' comeback. Against Allen, he scored 20 points and tied his season-high with 12 rebounds. He had eight points down the stretch to help seal the victory. It was his ninth game with at least 20 points and he now has six double-doubles this season.Â
Tolefree and the Golden Bears will be back in action on Wednesday when they face Albany State. Tip-off is scheduled for 6:30 p.m.
