Najashi Tolefree was named Player of the Week by the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference for his performance during the Golden Bears' three games last week.
Tolefree, a senior from Milwaukee, Wis., averaged 24.3 points on 57.7 percent shooting from the field, 5.0 rebounds, 1.3 assists and 1.0 steals as Miles won 2-of-3 games this week. He set his career high of 27 points on 12-of-20 shooting, grabbed five rebounds and added three assists in a road win at Spring Hill. Tolefree then tied his career-high with 27 points on 11-of-19 shooting, with six rebounds and two steals at Fort Valley State.Â
This season, Tolefree is averaging 16.9 points, 6.6 rebounds, and 2.6 assists. He leads the Godlen Bears in scoring, which is also top-10 in the SIAC, along with his .482 shooting percentage. He and the Golden Bears ae back in action on Thursday when they host Morehouse. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
