Miles junior Jaelyn Rhynes was named Pitcher of the Week by the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference for his performance for the Golden bears last week.

Rhynes, from Waco, Tex., was masterful in his start against Morehouse, tossing eight innings of shutout ball before surrendering a solo home run to lead off the ninth inning. He allowed nine hits and only one other runner to reach third base. Rhynes finished with five strikeouts in earning his fourth win of the season.

Rhynes and the Golden Bears are back in action on Friday when they host Clark Atlanta. First pitch of the doubleheader is scheduled for noon.
