The Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference announced on Tuesday that it has named Nick Copen the league's Pitcher of the Week. It was the second time this season that the hurler has earned the weekly honor.

Copen, a junior from Northport, Ala., had another sparkling performance for the Golden Bears this weekend against Edward Waters. He was one out short of a complete game, tossing 6 2/3 innings and allowing just five hits and one run, walking two and striking out four as Miles won 4-1. This season, Copen is 5-2 with a 3.99 ERA. He has not lost a decision in his last eight outings - all conference starts - and is among the league leaders in wins, earned run average, strikeouts and barting average against.

Copen and the Golden Bears are back in action on Sunday when they open a three-game home series against Tuskegee.
