On Monday, the SIAC announced that outside hitter,
Kiera Washington (Sr., Broussard, LA), was named the conference's defensive player of the week.
During the three matches played over the weekend, Washington average 16 digs per match. Washington recorded her season highs in digs, with 18 against Savannah State, and then eclipsed that performance with 23 digs versus Albany State. Defensively, she added a total of three blocks to her performance.
Washington also contributed offensively with an average of 8.7 kills per match, including 16 versus Savannah State (her second best performance of the year).
Washington, and the Golden Bears volleyball volleyball team will travel to Wilberforce, OH to face Central State and Kentucky State on Friday, followed by Lane on Saturday in the SIAC Western Cluster at Central State.
