The Miles volleyball team took to the court this weekend in Mobile, AL. for the SIAC Mini Cluster.  Friday, the Lady Bears Faced the Badgers of Spring Hill College, the SIAC defending Champions.  The Badgers went on to defeat the Lady Bears in straight sets (15-25, 13-25, 10-25). Malena Catala led the team with 17 assists and Chaiza Jones recorded 13 digs.

On Saturday, the Lady Bears would split with two East Division teams, the Golden Rams of Albany State and the Tigers of Savannah State. The Golden Rams defeated the Lady Bears 3-1 (21-25, 21-25, 25-22, 22-25).  Laila Esters led the team with 10 kills. Catala chipped in 28 assists.  Leading the team in assists was Kiera Washington (23) and Chaiza Jones (21).  The evening match saw the Lady Bears defeating the Tigers 3-2 (14-25, 25-22, 23-25, 25-23, 15-7).  In the match, Laila Esters (19), Kiera Washington (16) and Kayla Johnson (14) all had double-digit kills.  Anya Creecy had an astonishing 48 Assists.  Jones (19), Washington (18), and Kayla Trawick (10) had double-digit digs.

The Lady Bears will be back in action when they travel to Wilberforce, OH for the SIAC Western Cluster this weekend.  Friday the Lady Bears will take on Central State at 9:00 a.m and Kentucky State at 11:00 a.m.  On Saturday, they will face Lane at 1:00 p.m.
