Archie selected for HBCU All-Star Game

Miles outfielder/designated hitter Michael Archie has been selected to participate in the Second Annual Minority Baseball Prospects HBCU All-Star Game Presented by the Henry Louis Aaron Fund. The contest will be held at Truist Park, home of the World Series Champion Atlanta Braves on June 3 with first pitch set for 6:30 p.m. Central Time.

Archie, a freshman from Birmingham, Ala., had an outstanding season for the Golden Bears in 2022. He slashed .325/.523/.667 with 10 doubles, 10 home runs, and a team-high 52 runs batted in. His 45 walks and 12 hit by pitches also led the team and he also stole 11 bases in 13 attempts. He was chosen as the SIAC's Freshman of the year and was a First Team All-SIAC pick as designated hitter.

This is the second student-athlete from Miles chosen to compete in the HBCU All-Star Game, with Archie joining Zavian Caldwell, who participated in the inaugural event in 2021. You can watch the game here.
