Miles set to play in Black College World Series

The Miles baseball team will participate in the 2022 Tyson Foods Black College World Series, which will run from May 11-15 at Riverwalk Stadium in Montgomery, Ala. The Golden Bears are one of eight teams - four NCAA Division II, four NAIA - that will compete for the championship.

First up for the Golden Bears will be Bluefield State on Wednesday at 5 p.m. The Big Blue went 22-25 this season but are the defending champions in the event, winning the inaugural title last year. Miles is 25-23 and coming off a third-place finish at the SIAC Baseball Championship. The eight teams will play in two 4-team brackets, double-elimination style, until the winner of the NCAA bracket plays the winner of the NAIA bracket in a winner-take-all championship game on May 15. Miles is the No. 2 seed in the NCAA bracket, which also includes Albany State and Kentucky State.

Tickets are $10 and can be purchased here. Among the promotions for the event are "Rep Your HBCU Night" on May 11 and "Greek Night" is May 12. Games will also be streamed on the Black College Sports Network
