TUSKEGEE, Ala. -- Done in by another slow start, Miles dropped its fourth consecutive conference game with a 67-61 loss to Tuskegee Saturday at Chappie James Arena. After winning their first four SIAC games, the Lady Bears (10-6, 5-5 SIAC West) have now lost four of their last five league tilts.
The Golden Tigers (14-5, 9-2) ran out to a 23-12 lead after the first quarter and the Lady Bears allowed just six points in the second quarter to go into the half down 29-25. Miles tried to get back in front but Tuskegee was able to keep it at bay for the remainder of the contest. The Lady Bears shot less than 32 percent from the field, the fifth consecutive game they have not reached that plateau and the seventh time this season.
Alexis Carter had 18 points and 10 rebounds while Jade Wilson and Shelle Daniels each had 15 points for Tuskegee.
Victoria Sutton had 18 points and five rebounds,
Sakina Wynn had 13 points, three rebounds, three assists and three steals, and
Najla Shamsid-Deen finished with 13 points and two steals for Miles, which hosts Spring Hill on Monday, Tip time is scheduled for 5:30 p.m.
