Miles stays hot with win over FVSU

FORT VALLEY, Ga. -- Miles ran out to a 15-point lead at halftime and it looked like the Golden Bears would coast to another victory.
But Fort Valley State had other ideas. A 19-3 run over the first seven minutes of the second half erased the entire deficit. Still, Miles found a way to grind out its fifth win in six games in earning a 58-52 win over the Wildcats Monday night at HPE Complex.
Joshua Johnson scored 17 points - 13 in the first half - and
E. Reginald Smalls hit some big baskets down the stretch and finished with 11.
KeAndre Swopes had 10 points and 10 rebounds and
Carl Garcia added nine points and nine rebounds for the Golden Bears (6-17, 6-6), who play Thursday night at Morehouse. Tip-off is scheduled for 6 p.m.
