ALBANY, Ga. -- Miles shot 20 percent from 3-point range Saturday, which was actually a better percentage than they shot overall in a listless 72-39 loss to Albany State at the HPER Complex.

No one scored more than seven points for the Lady Golden Bears (10-12, 5-6 SIAC), who suffered their biggest conference loss since a 37-point loss at Fort Valley State in 2015. It is also the fewest points scored by the Miles women's basketball team since a 72-35 loss at Tuskegee almost four years ago. Thw win was just the fourth on the season for the Lady Golden Rams (4-18, 4-9), who have now won consecutive games for the first time this season.

Miles raced out to a 9-2 lead in the first quarter but 13 straight points put Albany State in the lead and helped it to a 17-13 advantage at the end of the first 10 minutes. Two quick buckets by Ashley McCrear tied the game but the Lady Bears made just one basket over the finale 7:53 of the quarter - a Larian Scott 3-pointer - as the Lady Rams led 31-20 at the half.

Taylor Terry knocked down a short jumper with just more than six minutes to play in the third quarter to bring Miles to within 35-30. But the wheels feel off from there as the Lady Bears would miss their final eight shots of the quarter and Albany State would lead by 19 going to the final period. Miles would then open the fourth quarter by missing its first eight shots - a stretch of futility that would last 12:12 and ended on another basket by Terry - and was down by 29 points. For the game, the Lady Bears shot 19 percent from the field with just six field goals each half.

Zuri Frost had 18 points and seven rebounds to lead Albany State. Terry had seven points, Scott and Javonne Brown each had six points, and Morgan Hardy had five points, nine rebounds and four steals for Miles, who play Monday night at Fort Valley State. Tip-off is scheduled for 5 p.m.
