Box Score MEMPHIS, Tenn. -- Senior forward Larian Scott was nearly unstoppable Saturday night as she scored a career-high 29 points in Miles' 67-63 win over LeMoyne-Owen.

The senior, whose previous high was 28 points against Barry last season and also dropped 27 against Saint Augustine's in November, made her first five shots from the field and was 10-for-16 overall. She was especially lethal from deep, draining five 3-pointers in the process.

Despite getting 15 points from Scott in the first half (tying a season-high for one half), Miles trailed 36-33 at the break. But Ashley Steger drilled one of her three 3-pointers to tie the game less than a minute into the third quarter. In fact, Scott, Steger, and Ashley McCrear scored the Lady Bears first 17 points of the third quarter to help Miles establish a 50-39 advantage with 4:35 left. But the Lady Magicians would not allow another basket the rest of the way and trailed 51-47 going to the final period. Miles saw its lead shrink to 57-55 inside of six minutes to play, but Scott drained another 3-pointer and LeMoyne-Owen would not get any closer.

Teresa Mays (17 points) and Courtney Banks (11 points, 13 rebounds) paced the Lady Magicians. Steger (14 points, four rebounds, five assists), McCrear (11 points, seven rebounds, four assists) and Morgan Hardy (six points, eight rebounds) lead the Lady Bears, who play at Lane Monday night. Tipoff is scheduled for 5:30 p.m.
