There have been some peaks and valleys during coach Tiffany Hunter's first season at Miles. Tuesday night against West Alabama would probably be listed in the valley section.

The Lady Bears struggled defensively, allowing the Tigers to hit .415 - best by a Miles opponent this season - in a three-set loss (25-14, 25-18, 25-10) to UWA (10-4). Miles (5-12) was never able to get into a rhythm on offense, which led to a lot of easy points and, ultimately, a fifth consecutive loss.

While the Tigers were celebrating kill after kill, the Lady Bears had trouble attacking the size UWA sent to the net. Alexus Moore had four kills, which led the team, and as a collective, the Lady Bears hit -.033. West Alabama outside hitter Briana Sandifer had more kills (17) then the entire Miles team (13).

Kayla Ford had a team-high 12 assists while Kamara Daughtry and Skyler Johnson each had five digs each for the Lady Bears, who will compete in a tri-match against Mississippi College and Alabama Huntsville on Friday beginning at 5 p.m.
