After a two-year hiatus, the Labor Day Golden Classic returns in 2015 when the Miles Golden Bears take on the University of North Alabama on Sunday, Sept. 6 at historic Legion Field in Birmingham. The matchup marks the seventh incarnation of the Labor Day Golden Classic and features two of the top teams in the NCAA Division II South Region.

"We are happy to be able to bring an exciting, quality event to our alumni, our fans and the city of Birmingham," said Miles athletic director Phillip Wallace, Jr. "The NCAA calendar did not allow for us to present this Classic the last two years, but we are more than ready to open our 2015 season by bringing it back."

The most recent Labor Day Golden Classic was held in 2012, when Miles and UNA waged an epic battle. The Lions led 24-7 at halftime but the Golden Bears clawed back into the contest, making it a one-point game. Miles went for the win but came up just short on the two-point conversion in a 31-30 defeat. Miles last victory in the Labor Day Golden Classic was in 2010 when it downed Stillman.
