MILES KNOCKS OFF CLAFLIN IN FIRST ROUND SIAC CHAMPIONSHIP PLAY
Box Score OZARK, AL (April 25, 2013) – The Miles College Golden Bears (13-19) defeated Claflin University (17-22) in the first round of the SIAC Championship action 18-12 Wednesday night, April 24 in Ozark, AL. Miles pounded out 18 hits to 12 for Claflin.
Justin Bartley (4-4) picked up the win for the Golden Bears and
Austin Freeman (2) added his second save. Dezmond Moore (4-3) gained the loss for Claflin.
Joey Pollet led Miles with four RBI's, three runs scored and two hits;
Gary Mason had three hits and scored four times.
Earnest Harris drove in two RBI's, two hits, scored twice and
Austin Freeman had three RBI's on three hits.
Kelend Smith scored twice on two hits, Hunter Woods scored twice on two hits and a RBI, while
Anthony Jones scored twice.
Miles will play Stillman College at 6 pm on Thursday, April 25, 2013.
