MILES LADY BEARS EIGHTH-SEED IN NCAA SOUTH REGION TOURNAMENT
FAIRFIELD, AL – The NCAA Division II Softball Committee has selected top seed Valdosta State as the host site for the NCAA South Regional Tournament. The four teams selected to participate in the double-elimination tournament is No. 8 Miles, No. 1 Valdosta State (48-3), No. 4 Rollins (40-9) and No. 5 Alabama-Huntsville (41-14). South Regional play will be held May 4-6.
Miles (29-26) won seven straight games in the SIAC Softball Tournament to become champions of the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference after beating Stillman, 5-4.
The Lady Bears will play No. 1 seed Valdosta State on Friday, May 4, with the game schedule for 7 p.m. (ET). Rollins meets Alabama-Huntsville at 4:30 p.m. The two winners will face each other at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, and the losers will face one another at 4 p.m.
There are 64 teams participating in the NCAA Division II Softball Championship, with four teams playing at 16 regional sites. The winners will advance to the super regionals May 11-12 and finals on May 16-19 in Louisville, KY.
The Lady Bears finished the regular season with a 29-26 (19-7) record in the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC).
