GOLDE BEARS DROP DOUBLEHEADER TO TALLADEGA

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 FAIRFIELD, AL – The Miles College Golden Bears (6-5) baseball team dropped a doubleheader 9-1 and 8-2 to Talladega College (11-10) today in Talladega.

Game one,Don Mack (1-2) picked up the loss as he threw a complete game, giving up nine runs (four earned) on nine hits and four strike-outs. Viso Gabriel went six innings for Talladega to get the win while giving up four hits and eight strike-outs. 

Kevin Harris was 1-for-3 and drove in the only run.

In game two, Austin Williams (2-3) went three innings for the Golden Bears to get the loss, while Randall Cole threw three innings. Williams gave up five runs all earned on five hits and Cole three runs (none earned) on three hits. Ryan Pettus went five innings for Talladega to give up one earned run on seven hits.

Jeffery Jones went 2-for-4 on the day and scored a run, while Anthony Jones drove in a run on a 1-for-2 day at the plate.

Next game: The Golden Bears will open conference play this weekend as they host the Magicians of LeMoyne-Owen College in a doubleheader at Rickwood Field. First game is scheduled for 1:00 p.m.
