Courtney English led the Miles College Lady Bears (1-0) to victory with a double-double night over Barber-Scotia College (0-6) 80-53 in the Livingstone College Basketball Tournament in Salisbury, NC.
English scored 16 points, grabbed 10 rebounds and passed out 4 assist. She hit 6-of-14 shots from the floor and 4-for-4 at the foul line. Freshman center

Lindsay Lee led Barber-Scotia with a game high double-double 20 points and 12 rebounds and Jasmanique Price added 15 points.
Miles went to half up 39-29 and outscored Barber-Scotia 41-29 in the second half.
Miles hit 32-of-74 (43.2%) shots from the floor and 13-of-20 (65.0%) free throws, while Barber-Scotia hit 24-of-64 (37.5%) shots from the field and 5-of-11 (45.5%) at the foul line.
Miles will be back in action on tomorrow as they play Allen University at 7 p.m.
