GOLDEN BEARS DROP A PAIR TO STILLMAN ON SATURDAY
BIRMINGHAM, AL – The Miles College baseball team dropped a pair of close conference games on Saturday, falling by scores of 2-0 and 3-2 to the Tigers of Stillman College giving them the lead in the SIAC West Division at Rickwood Field.
The losses drop the Golden Bears to 18-12; 6-2 in the SIAC and improved the Tigers record to 18-15; 8-0 in conference play.
In game one, Stillman pitcher Josh Cagle (5-2) tossed a two hitter in the seven inning contest for the win. He struck out nine Golden Bears while allowing just four men to reach base.
Cagle performance overshadowed that of Miles sophomore starter

Junior
Julius Fain and senior
Patrick Melvin punched out one hit apice for the Golden Bears.
In the second game, junior pitcher
Don Mack (4-4) allowed six hits to give up just three runs, only two of which were earned as the Golden Bears committed a pair of errors that led to the Tigers first run. Mack struck out two batters and walked five.
Austin Leary (4-3) earned the win for Stillman.
Senior
Bryon Ramsey accounted for two of the Golden Bear four hits in this contest and it was his and McWilliams hits that produced the two runs for Miles.
Miles will host Stillman College in the third game of the series at Rickwood Field on tomorrow at 1 p.m.
