Senior power forward Courtney English (6-0) for the Lady Bears basketball team was selected SIAC Women’s Basketball Player of the Week, respectively, after her impressive performance during the LeMoyne-Owen and Clark Atlanta games with double-doubles. It is the fourth honor of the season for English with three honorsfrom the SIAC and one team honor and the fourth for the Miles women’s basketball team.
English, a native of Atmore, AL (L. B. Wallace Community College), has recorded her 12th and 13th double-double of the season, while in the LeMoyne-Owen game she had a season high 20 rebounds. She earned her fourth player of the week honor this season while averaging 15.0 points and 14.0 rebounds over three games. The 6-foot-0 power forward also averaged 3.0 steals, 1.0 block on defense and 1.0 assists.
