Teddy Keaton is in his second season coaching running backs at Miles while also taking over the role as the team's recruiting coordinator. Prior to joining the Golden Bears, Keaton spent five seasons as the head coach at Stillman, where he had three winning seasons and went 27-26 overall.

Keaton graduated from Stillman in 1999 and immediately went to work for the football team, serving as the director of football operations, running backs coach and special teams coordinator during his first stint with the Tigers, which ran through 2004.

From Stillman, Keaton moved into the indoor football ranks, where he had a string of successful campaigns with several teams. He served as the defensive coordinator with the Odessa Roughnecks and as head coach of both the Lakeland Thunderbolts and Huntington Heroes. With the Thunderbolts, his two teams went a combined 27-4, was named AIFL Coach of the Year in 2007, and watched six of his players moved on to play in the Arena Football League.

Keaton moved back to the collegiate ranks, serving as defensive backs coach for one season before becoming offensive coordinator at Webber International University from 2008–2010 before taking the head coaching job at Stillman.
