For the second straight week, two Miles student-athletes were lauded by the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference for their performances during the past week. Sophomore outside hitter Karea Copeland was named Offensive Player of the Week while sophomore middle hitter/blocker Navaeh Bellamy earned the league's Defensive Player of the Week nod as the Lady Bears went 5-0.

Copeland, from Newnan, Ga., earns the top Offensive Player award for the second consecutive week and garners a weekly conference award for the ninth time in her career. She hit .235 this week and had 81 kills over five matches and 4.05 kills per set, both of which led the SIAC. She also added 44 digs, seven blocks (one solo), four assists, and four service aces. She had 22 kills in a four-set win over Benedict and a double-double (12 kills, 19 digs) in a five set win over Benedict.

Bellamy, from Chipley, Fla., earns her first weekly award after racking up 17 blocks (three solo) last week - tied for the fifth-most in the SIAC.while her 1.06 blocks per set (16 sets) was fourth.She had a career-high seven blocks (two solo) in just two sets against Allen. Bellamy also added nine kills, four assists and five digs from her spot along the defensive front.

Copeland, Bellamy and the Lady Bears are back in action tonight as they travel to face Talladega. First serve is scheduled for 6 p.m.
