Miles has set its 2026 football schedule, one that features two games against Division I opponents, two classics, three Homecomings and four home games at Sloan-Alumni Stadium, including a Thursday night affair.
The Golden Bears will open the second season of the
Chris Goode era with a road matchup against Alcorn State on Aug. 29. It will mark Miles' first trip to Lorman, Miss. since the 2017 campaign. The following week, the team will trek to face Alabama A&M in the Louis Crews Classic on Sept. 5 in its first trip in Normal since 2018.
The first home game will take place on Sept. 12 as Miles hosts Edward Waters in the Prince Hall Americanism Football Classic, with kickoff slated for 2 p.m. The Golden Bears are back on the road the following week to face Clark Atlanta on Sept. 19 and follow that trip with a sojourn to play Savannah State on Sept. 26. It will be Miles' first game in Savannah since the Tigers officially rejoined the SIAC in 2019.
As the calendar turns to October, Miles will have a home-heavy slate. Homecoming is slated for Oct. 3 as the Golden Bears host Lane. The following week, Kentucky State will host its homecoming contest against the Golden Bears on Oct. 10. After a week off, Miles will return home to face Central State on Oct. 24 before closing out its home schedule with a Thursday night battle against Fort Valley State on Oct. 29.
The final week of the regular season will feature a trip to Macon County as Miles battle Tuskegee during its homecoming contest on Nov. 7. The SIAC Championship Game is scheduled for Nov. 14 but could also feature another contest if the Golden Bears do not earn a berth in the title game.
