For the third time this season - and second consecutive week, Miles outside hitter
Karea Copeland has been selected Offensive Player of the Week in the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference.
Copeland, a freshman from Newnan, Ga., again led the charge for the Lady Bears. In four matches, she finished with 75 kills, 56 digs and nine service aces while hitting .289. Her best matches came against Stillman, where she had a season-high 26 kills, added 12 digs, four aces and three blocks (two solo) while hitting .317 in the five-set win. She also played well against Edward Waters, where she had 19 kills, a career-high 22 digs, and four aces. She posted double-doubles (kills and digs) in each of Miles' four matches.
Copeland has also won SIAC Newcomer of the Week two times this season. She will be back in action today as the Lady Bears host Oakwood at Knox-Windham Gymnasium. First serve is scheduled for 6 p.m.
