Miles golf earns NCAA bid

For the second time in school history, the Miles golf team will ply its trade in the postseason after being announced as one of the participants in the NCAA Division II Golf Championships.

The Golden Bears earned an automatic bid into the tournament after winning the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Confernce championship by two strokes this week in Lexington, Ky. They are one of 10 programs from the South Region to earn entry into the field and will join 10 more schools from the Southeast Region to form the regional field. The tournament will be hosted by the University of North Georgia and take place at the Chattahoochee Golf Club in Gainesville, Ga. from May 9-11.

The top five teams and the top two student-athletes not with a team from each regional (regardless of region) will advance to the finals May 21-25, at Orange County National Golf Center and Lodge in Winter Garden, Fla. The finals will be hosted by Rollins College and the Greater Orlanda Sports Commission.
