Iemyiah Harris All-SIAC 2024

Harris earns second straight All-SIAC honor

Miles guard Iemyiah Harris added another honor to her decorated career, nabbing First Team All-Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference honors for the second consecutive season.

Harris, a junior from Anniston, Ala., showed why she was the Preseason Player of the Year throughout the season. Through the end of the regular season, she is averaging 16.9 points, 4.0 rebounds, 3.8 assists and 3.0 steals. No one in the SIAC has scored more points (440), made more 3-pointers (76), or grabbed more steals (77) even though she faced consistent double and triple teams on a nightly basis. She was second in the league in assists (100), fourth in free throw percentage (.825) and fifth in assist/turnover ratio (1.1). She was even top-20 in blocked shots (14) despite standing just 5-foot-5.

On Dec. 14, Harris recorded a triple-double (10 points, 11 rebounds, 10 assists) against Clinton College. She had 10 games where she scored at least 20 points, topping out with a career-high 30 in a win at Central State. She had 13 games with at least three 3-pointers and her nine steals against Benedict was the single-game high in the SIAC this season. Harris also was named SIAC Player of the Week twice during this campaign.

In two season, Harris has now been named Newcomer of the Year, twice named All-SIAC First team, and was selected to the All-SIAC Tournament team in 2023. She will look to lead the Lady Bears to a league title when they begin the SIAC Tournament on Friday at 11 a.m.
