The Lady Bears opened up the 2023 season against the Lady Tigers of Stillman College, and did not disappoint. The Lady Bears swept the Tigers in commanding fashion and were dominant from the opening serve. Energy in the arena was high as the Lady Bears took early control of the match and never let up.
 
Kiera Washington led the Lady Bears attack with a match-high 19 kills, hitting .643. Kayla Johnson also added nine kills while Alaina Obianozie contributed four of her own. Malena Catala had a match-high 3 aces as well as a match-high 23 assists. Anya Creecy also chipped in 10 assists of her own.
 
As a team, the Lady Bears hit .287 for the match with 39 kills, 11 aces, 3 blocks, and 46 digs. Starting the season off with a victory of this magnitude is the perfect way to set the tone for an anticipated great season!
 
The next match is Thursday when the Lady Bears hit the road to face the Lady Tornadoes of Talladega College. Last season the teams split their two matchups with each team winning on the opposing team floor. Start time of the match is 6pm.
