Fairfield, AL | Earlier in the week, the SIAC released scenarios on how teams could make the championship with different combinations of win and losses for each. None of the
scenarios favored the Golden Bears to get into the championship game. With Albany State defeating Fort Valley State earlier in the day, a Miles win would send Albany State to the SIAC Championship game but the goal for the Tigers was to just win.
Tuskegee opened up the scoring with an 18 play, 89-yard touchdown drive to end the 1st quarter but the second quarter would see the Golden Bear defense stiffen and the offense get on track. With
Edwin Kleinpeter Jr. out,
Kamren Ivory would start at quarterback and lead the Golden Bears on a 10 play, 86-yard touchdown drive that would tie the score at 7-7 and he was not done. The Golden Bears next offensive possession, Ivory would connect with
Jaylin Peterson for a 68-yards reception, setting up a 1st-and-goal from the 1-yard line and Ivory would punch it in for a 14-7 lead. Tuskegee would add a field goal as time expired in the 2nd quarter to cut the lead to 14-10 going into the half.
In the 3rd quarter, The Golden Bears would strike first on a 73-yard touchdown pass from Ivory to Peterson to increase their lead to 21-10 and after a huge 38-yard completion from Ivory to Abner;
Brandon Hicks would run it in from 10 yards away for a 28-10 lead. The Golden Bears would score their final touchdown in the fourth quarter with a 13 play, 86-yard drive that was capped off on a
Jamari Riley 5-yard touchdown run.
The Golden Bears will now wait to see if they receive an invitation to post-season play.
