Lady Bears Sweeps East-West Challenge

Fairfield, AL | The Lady Bears picked up two impressive victory in as many days, defeating the Tigers of Benedict College, 90-49 and the Tigers of Edward Waters College, 75-64 as part of the SIAC East-West Challenge held at the Knox-Windham Gymnasium.

In game one, the Lady Bears was dominate against Benedict from start to finish never trailing in the contest and took a 24-point lead into the half. Â The Lady Bears would continue to pour it on in the second half and ended the third quarter with a 33-point lead and coast to a 90-49 victory.

The Lady Bears had five players to score in double figures led by Feliah Greer (Lafayette, AL) with 18 points, Iemyiah Harris (Anniston, AL) 17 points,  Madison Lee (Statesboro, GA) 13 points, Imani Williams (Kankakee, IL) 12 points and Tederia Ashley (Huntsville, AL) added 10 points.
In game two, Edward Waters got off to a hot start against the Lady Bears owning a 23-17 lead after the first period. However, the Lady Bears defense would take over. The Lady Bears would hold the Tigers scoreless for over six minutes and take a five-point lead into the half.
The third quarter saw both team go on runs and the teams went into the fourth quarter with the game tied 56-56 but the Lady Bears defense would once again take the game over. In the fourth quarter, the Lady Bears outscored the Tigers 19-8 to pull away for the 75-64 victory.
Iemyiah Harris would lead all scorers with 25 points, 6 assists and 4 steals.  Madison Lee would add 13 points and 7 rebounds and Feliah Greer contributed 10 points, 5 rebounds, and 4 steals. Â
The Lady Bears will be right back in action next Saturday when they travel to Atlanta, GA to play the Panthers of Clark Atlanta University in a non-conference matchup. Game time is set for 12:00 p.m. cst
