Stolen Base attempt

Lady Bears win Division II statistical honor

The Miles softball team ended the 2022 season as one of the final four teams standing at the SIAC Championships, but no one finished any higher than the Lady Bears in one statistical category.

Miles was named the statistical champion for Division II in stolen bases per game, averaging more than four swipes per contest. The Lady Bears led the nation with 169 stolen bases and a 4.22 average in 40 contests, zooming past Minot State (165 total, 3.44 average) and West Alabama (163, 3.08). Six players had at least 10 stolen bases on the season, led by Kirsten Stroud (39 stolen bases in 15 games), Erielle Reid (27 steals), and Kiara Cobb (26 steals).

Reid finished ninth in Division II in stolen bases per game(.90 per game). Stroud would have easily led the nation in stolen bases per game but did not play enough games to qualify. She did tie for ninth in total stolen bases.
