MONTEVALLO, Ala. -- The Miles volleyball team opened its season with a straight-set loss (25-10, 25-4, 25-6) to the University of Montevallo Tuesday night.
The Lady Bears (0-1) struggled on both sides of the net, hitting -.178 as a team while allowing the Falcons (3-1) to connect on nearly 50 percent of their attacks. Montevallo also had 15 service aces to help its cause while Miles committed 22 attack errors.
Alexis Reed,
Breanna Edwards-Demars, and
D'Nautica Johnson each had two kills,
Tatiyana Thomas added seven assists, three digs and two block assists,
Briana Brown had four digs and
Shatesa Harris finished with one kill and two block assists.
The Lady Bears are back in action on Sept. 11, when they open their home schedule with a tri-match against Alabama-Huntsville (4 p.m.) and Talladega (6 p.m.)
