Men's Basketball Preview: Clark Atlanta
No matter how a team has performed during the regular season, playing the first game of a conference championship tournament is always tough. Miles' men's basketball team hopes that works to its advantage Thursday when they play Clark Atlanta in the quarterfinals of the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Basketball Championship.
The two teams, who closed the regular season in Atlanta one week ago, will tip-off at approximately 7:45 p.m. at the Bill Harris Arena at the Birmingham CrossPlex. The Golden Bears are in the quarterfinals for the third time in four seasons after a
73-65 win Tuesday over Albany State in the Opening Round. The Panthers have been idle since the victory last week that saw Miles use a 24-4 run to erase a 15-point deficit but then fade down the stretch.
