Women's Basketball Preview: Fort Valley State
A solid run at the end of the season helped Miles' women's basketball team earn the No. 2 seed from the Western Division and moved its start of the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Tournament to Thursday afternoon at the Bill Harris Arena at the Birmingham CrossPlex.
The Lady Bears are on a season-high four-game win streak and need three more to win the SIAC and earn an automatic berth in the NCAA Division II South Region Tournament. But that run will have to start in the quarterfinals against Fort Valley State, the No. 3 seed from the Eastern Division. The Lady Wildcats overcame a double-digit deficit in the second half to beat Tuskegee on Tuesday in the Opening Round. The winner will face East Division No. 1 seed Benedict on Friday at 1 p.m.
