TUSKEGEE, Ala. -- Rickeytha Davis is generally not one of the top options when the Miles women's basketball team is looking for a crucial basket late in tight games. But her two fourth quarter buckets - along with solid defense and rebounding throughout - were a big part of the Lady Golden Bears' 67-57 win over Tuskegee Monday night at the Chappie James Center.

Larian Scott scored 17 points and Amoni Walker had 14 points off the bench for Miles (13-12, 8-6 SIAC), which won its third straight and returned the favor to the Golden Tigerettes (10-15, 5-10), who defeated Miles two weeks ago. Despite never losing the lead in the fourth quarter, the Lady Bears were unable to shake Tuskegee until the final moments.

Miles had trouble containing Rachel Brownlee (game-high 24 points) and she twice cut the Tuskegee deficit to one point with less than four minutes remaining. But each time Brownlee scored, Davis (four points, nine rebounds) had the answer. Her last bucket gave the Lady Bears a 58-55 lead with 2:05 left and sparked a 9-0 run that effectively closed out the game.

Teja Finley had eight points and five rebounds for Tuskegee. Ashley McCrear had eight points and seven rebounds and Najla Shamsid-Deen added eight points, two assists and two steals for Miles, which closes out the regular season at Clark Atlanta on Thursday. Tip-off is at 5 p.m.
