Miles to host Tuskegee for Senior Night
Both Miles' men and women's basketball teams have enjoyed a resurgence this season and for the first time in recent memory are enjoying concurrent successful seasons. Those seasons can get much better in less than two weeks when the SIAC Basketball Championships begin but for now, both teams will look to finish off strong regular seasons when they host Tuskegee on Monday for Senior Night at the Bill Harris Arena.
The women are enjoying their best campaign since the 2011-12 season, when they finished 16-12. That season, the Lady Golden Bears teetered down the stretch, splitting their last 10 games and falling to Tuskegee in the second round of the conference tournament. Heading into the regular season finale against the Golden Tigerettes, Miles has won 4-of-5, including a 51-32 drubbing of Tuskegee on Feb. 1. At 14-11 overall, the team is guaranteed a winning record this season and no matter the final result on Monday night, Miles will earn the West Division's No. 2 seed going into the tournament.
The men have been even more surprising this season. Using an influx of new talent - a lot coming from transfers - the Golden Bears have gone 15-12 this season, which is one less win than they have had the last three seasons combined. It will be Miles' first winning season since the 2007-08 campaign when the team went 15-13. Still, the Golden Bears will need a win against Tuskegee to secure the West Division No. 2 seed. After a five-game win streak put the Golden Bears right outside of first place after a 76-71 win at Tuskegee on Feb. 1, the team has dropped 3-of-5 - including two big losses to Stillman - that makes this Tuskegee contest a must-win.
Tip-off for the women's game will start at 5:30 p.m., shortly after they honor seniors
Shaquinta Sales,
Brittney Smith and
Jamarra Taylor. The men will tip-off at approximately 7:30 p.m. and will honor

Willie Gray,
Hasain Bunnell and
Aron Stewart prior to the start of the game. Tickets are $12.
