SELMA, Ala. -- Miles avenged an early-season defeat with a sweep of Concordia-Alabama (25-22, 25-18, 25-18) Thursday night at the Jenkins Center. The win was the third straight for the Lady Bears (9-16) and gives them one more victory than they had in all of 2015.

Alexus Moore had a team-high 10 kills, Kayla Ford had 33 assists, and Lauren Moorer led the Lady Bears with 17 digs. Keegan Snowden had a match-high 11 kills for the Hornets.

Miles led throughout most the first two sets. Moore, Skyler Johnson (seven kills, two aces, two solo blocks) and Antwaneshia Green (7-1-18, .333) paced the opening set while Moore, Green and D'leisha Dent (6-1-14, .357) handled business in the middle stanza. The Hornets raced out to a 9-2 lead in the third set but Miles was able to chase them down and tied the score at 12 thanks to some deft serving by Briana Brown (three straight aces) and power at the net by Johnson. Concordia  then started piling up the errors and the Lady Bears were able to post their first 3-match win streak of the season.

The Lady Bears are back in action on Monday, when they travel to Tuskegee to take on the Golden Tigers. First serve is scheduled for 6 p.m.
