AUGUSTA, Ga. -- Lately, Miles has found itself on the bad end of a big run by the opposing team en route to a tough defeat. Monday night, the Lady Golden Bears turned the tables and Paine was the team suffering.

The Lady Golden Bears (10-8, 5-4 SIAC) used a scintillating 13-0 run late into the fourth quarter to overturn a seven-point deficit to earn a 64-58 win at the HEAL Complex. Larian Scott had 26 points and Torborsha Holley dropped 20 for Miles, which won its second straight after dropping four in-a-row. Ashley Watts had a team-high 13 points for Paine (5-11, 3-7).

Chasity Mullins' basket with 4:25 left in the game had given the Lady Lions a 56-49 lead and Miles, which led by as many as nine points in the second half, was looking at another tough defeat. But Paine would go 1-of-5 from the field with four turnovers the rest of the way while the Lady Golden Bears took over. Scott hit a 3-pointer and knocked down a jumper to tie the game and Shaquinta Sales scored in the paint to give Miles the lead for good at 58-56 with a minute remaining.

Holley would drain four straight free throws and Scott would knock down two more as the Lady Golden Bears outscored the Lady Lions 20-10 in the final period. The duo combined to score 15 of Miles' 19 baskets on the night

Mullins scored 11 points, all in the second half, for Paine. Sales (five points, game-high 12 rebounds, three steals) was strong for Miles, which plays at Albany State on Thursday. Tip-off is at 4:30 p.m.
