Javonne Brown scored a season-high 15 points off the bench and Torborsha Holley added 14 points as Miles snapped its 4-game losing streak with a 67-57 win over Lane College Saturday afternoon at Knox-Windham Gymnasium.

The Lady Golden Bears (9-8, 4-4 SIAC) led the entire way, running out to a 21-7 lead after the first quarter and never allowing the Dragons any closer than eight points - and that came with just over one minute left in the game. Miles scored seven straight points early in the second quarter, the last coming on a Tierra Williams 3-pointer - to give the team its largest lead at 29-9. Miles led 41-25 at halftime on the strength of 43 percent shooting from the field and 63 percent shooting from behind the arc.

Tashara Jones had a game-high 22 points and Valerie Leland had nine points and 12 rebounds for Lane (2-15, 2-7). Ashley Steger had nine points and Morgan Hardy had seven points and 11 rebounds for Miles, which travels to Paine on Monday. Tipoff is scheduled for 4:30 p.m.
