By Jerome Woods
JACKSONVILLE, Ala. - Miles' men's basketball team began the 2015-16 season with a 110-61 loss to Division I opponent Jacksonville State Tuesday night. This was an exhibition contest for both squads as they prepare for the regular season.
The Gamecocks spread the wealth offensively as five players scored in double figures. Kyle Doyle led Miles with 14 points off the bench while Gerald Maddox had 13 and Shaquille Cook added 11. All three are newcomers for the Golden Bears, who have nine new players on the roster this season. All-SIAC performer
Maiscei Grier scored two points on 1-of-5 shooting in nine minutes of action.
Next up for the Golden Bears is more exhibition action as they take a trip to New Orleans to face Xavier-Louisiana with tipoff set for 7:30 p.m.
